Created by artist Thomas Dambo, Trolls: A Field Study brought enormous sculptures made from recycled wood to Whipsnade Zoo. Working with Tori Flower, I helped develop an adventure trail that invited children to become field researchers, following clues, solving puzzles and exploring the natural world around them.

Designed to feel as though the trolls themselves had created it, the trail combined a hand-drawn map, activity prompts, troll illustrations, nature-spotting prompts and a secret code to crack. The aim was to put children in the lead, encouraging them to get curious and show the grown-ups a thing or two about nature.
