ZSL Paint by numbers world record

14,024 PEOPLE

ONE PAINTING

ONE WORLD RECORD

How do you get 14,024 people to make one painting?

For ZSL’s 200th anniversary, I produced a giant collaborative paint-by-numbers event to help them celebrate 200 years of wildlife, science and conservation. The artwork was illustrated by the wonderful Margaux Carpentier, and the technical development of the project by the also wonderful Jessica In.

Visitors to London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo could paint a tiny piece of the picture over nine days. When all 21 boards came together, thousands of individual contributions became one enormous celebration of the natural world — and a new Guinness World Records title.
